Ruby Naybour Art AS

Ruby’s beautiful work for her AS Fine Art exam was a response to the theme of “earth, Air, Fire & Water’, partly inspired by the mud and water paintings of Richard Long. She used drawings made in Life Drawing classes at Wolfson College last term, and a mix of materials such as raw pigments, oil pastel and tempera. She then submerged and soaked the paper once it had been worked on, to allow a sense of the unpredictable to determine a final outcome.

Annabelle Galland Photography AS

Sadly it will soon be time for us all to say goodbye to Annabelle as she will be going back to Switzerland at the end of term. She has had a very successful year at Wychwood and has made beautiful work throughout all her AS Photography studies. Here is her finished piece for her ‘Environment’ project in which she explored Portraiture and Landscape, Layering and Texture. We all wish her well and look forward to hearing of her successes in the future.

Anna Ashdown Art AS

These large works are from Annabelle's AS Fine Art coursework portfolio. They are based on drawings of the negative spaces in a still life of bentwood chairs, produced in paper and then layered and interspersed with pen and ink (and sometimes stick) sketches of wild garlic heads and the thistles known as 'Miss Wilmot's Ghost'.

Ophelia Jorgensen Photography AS

In response to the title 'Earth, Air, Fire & Water’, photographed her younger sister in four very different parts of the world. She produced a fantastic project that explored the eerie qualities of childhood, atmosphere, nature and the elements. Here are her four finished pieces.

Young Art Oxford 2014

All the Remove, Inters and Lower Transits produced paintings for the Young Art Oxford competition this year, to raise money for Cancer Research. The theme was 'The Natural World', and many of the successful works were shown at the Ashmolean, in a special exhibition. Here is a small selection of some of the lovely watercolour, pen and pencil crayon pictures that the girls did in the Art lessons last term.
