Zoe, who is doing photography in her own time in preparation for her GCSE course that will start next year, has made some beautifully still and atmospheric images during her recent travels. These images are a great example of her talents and were made during her visit to Mount Fuji in Japan.

For her 'Transformations' project Eliza has been exploring visual possibilities using layering and double exposure. Starting with delicate and saturated images of natural forms she has produced these beautiful studies.

For her GCSE Portraiture project Izzy produced a very strong series of images, inspired by Nick Waplington's 'Other Edens', where she explored the figure within the landscape.

Alex Boardman Photography GCSE

Alex made the most of a number of trips to America and Europe to produce a very strong and varied 'Landscape & Architecture' project as part of her GCSE Coursework. With a keen eye for form and composition, her skills are exemplified in these images. 

Helena Xu Photography GCSE

Helena used her GCSE ‘Still Life’ coursework project to explore light and time in the surroundings most familiar to her to produce these beautifully minimal and simple images. Having studied the origins of the still life and the photographic image Helena used her every own style and vision to arrange and create atmosphere. 

Farah Madzar Photography GCSE

For her exam project on the theme of ‘Together and/or Apart’ Farah ultimately made a film exploring quiet and busy places, noise and stillness, movement and atmosphere. The majority of her footage was shot in central London and countryside near her home but, in preparation for her final piece, she made some lovely studies exploring different locations.

For her GCSE ‘Portraiture’Coursework project Alex considered investigating what clothes, artefacts and possessions say about their owner’s character and personality. Her clear appreciation of colour, light and atmosphere helped her produce some very individual imagery.   

Helena Xu Photography GCSE

Helena explored a variety of approaches and techniques, often using low or artificial light for her GCSE Portraiture project. Gradually paring down her subject matter and colour palette, she finally settled on this set for her final piece. 

Ellen Todd Photography AS

Ellen used a recent skating competition trip to Stockholm to make a series of vivid and atmospheric studies of the city as part of her 'Environment' coursework project.

Eliza Innes Ker Photography AS

Eliza used the large scale images of Andreas Gursky as a starting point reference for her Photographers project. She produced a very strong set of studies of urban space, appreciating form and emptiness/solidity and air, mostly shot in the urban metropolis that is Milton Keynes.

Vicki Blake Photography GCSE

Although she initially experimented with cut-ups and collage for the Portraiture project part of her GCSE coursework, Vicki went on concentrate on street portraits taken on her travels in NYC and Spain. The images below are a couple of her more successful final shots.
