Fei Wu Fine Art GCSE

For her GCSE exam this summer, Fei explored the surfaces and forms of Chinese and Japanese ceramics collected by her mother. The theme she was interpreting was 'Past, Present and Future', and into this work she incorporated symbols that reflected elements of her own life.

GCSE Fine Art

The UT art group are currently adding to their GCSE coursework portfolios by making studies of still life works by major artists, before going on to produce their own contemporary interpretations of Vanitas, or Dutch ‘Breakfast pieces’. Maya Johnson’s painting (still in progress) is from Pierre Bonnard’s ‘ Bowl of Fruit’, Alex McMillan’s piece is a study of a work by Gauguin, and Fei Wu has nearly completed her painting of Adriaen Coorte’s ‘Still Life of asparagus’ from the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford.

Young Art Oxford 2014

All the Remove, Inters and Lower Transits produced paintings for the Young Art Oxford competition this year, to raise money for Cancer Research. The theme was 'The Natural World', and many of the successful works were shown at the Ashmolean, in a special exhibition. Here is a small selection of some of the lovely watercolour, pen and pencil crayon pictures that the girls did in the Art lessons last term.
